Citizens for Safe Technology
Empowering the public to protect children
and nature from unsafe wireless technologies.
Information and strategies exist to deal with communication technologies and infrastructure at societal levels, and facilitate awareness and proactive solutions. Hiding behind outdated Federal regulations (in Canada, Safety Code 6) does not remove the elected official's obligation to act in the best interests of the public.

Editorial and Poll: B.C. Hydro should let homeowners opt out of smart meters
POLL: Should homeowners be allowed to opt out of B.C. Hydro's smart meter program?
"In what may seem like an odd decision given its usual support for all things green, Vancouver council has joined the growing choir of voices calling on B.C. Hydro -- and presumably its B.C. Liberal overlords -- to allow people to opt out of smart meters. Good on council for joining the nearly 40 other B.C. municipal governments in urging Hydro to quit using its bullyboy monopoly to shove a widely unpopular $930-million program on electricity consumers.
"Individual homeowners have a variety of concerns about the meters. Some fear alleged negative health effects from the electromagnetic waves given off by the devices. Others don't believe Hydro should have the right to invade the privacy of their homes by monitoring electricity use minute by minute, and therefore the their level of activity. Others oppose the huge cost of the project, while others simply don't like to having the meters imposed on them.
"Hydro says it has the legal right to ignore the views of municipal councils because it is provincially regulated. But it can't ignore the provincial government, which increasingly had better quit ignoring consumers and voters on this issue."

Citizens For Safe Technology
"Wi-Fi: Is It Safe?"
Citizens for Safe Technology is a not-for-profit educational society made up of parents, grandparents, teachers, business professionals, scientists, politicians and lawyers concerned about the exponential increase in public exposure to harmful wireless technologies.
We believe a profound urgency exists to protect the unsuspecting public, especially children, youth and pregnant mothers from unsafe wireless technologies.
