Living in a cave without all the waves
"electrohypersensitive persons" on Australian TV
"The square of the town hall took on Saturday morning, looks like a television studio for an interview with Jean-Claude Gast by the host Rosie Kingham.
The lives of "women of the caves" is not a common story: the press and the French television channels have repeatedly reported the unusual decision of these two women forced to choose to live in length of years in the discomfort of a grotto of virgin waves all over the town of Saint-Julien-en-Beauchene (Hautes-Alpes). Their resolve challenges with strength, describing himself as "electrohypersensitive" (a neologism brand new), they feel they have found that this parade for protection from electromagnetic fields harmful to their health.
"The media coverage of this startling news today exceeds our borders, finding echoes to the antipodes, since Australian television has shifted in recent days, in the Beauchene. For National Geographic, a team of four professionals in film came, accompanied by an interpreter.
"Show that this sensitivity does exist"
"Director Rosie Kingham regularly presents a series of programs under the title "Taboo", sharing experience extremes experienced throughout the world. She felt that the news of Saint-Julien has its place. Regarding motivation, she says: "My wish is to get the message that this sensitivity still poorly understood, does exist. Should be that beyond a collective awareness, the company wants to address this problem. We hope our report will serve to relay this. The problem is international, but there is so far very few studies of physical phenomena. We met people who were suffering. One of them has insisted that she must constantly justify his attitude, while no one is able to explain what happens. But she claims to have no other choice, to the detriment of family life: it is the sacrifice! "
"Anne Bernadette and endure the seasons as they come, in the glow of candles and under heavy sweaters. One of them has just spent her third winter. Other solutions, other places were searched, without success so far. The report has gathered the testimonies of the two people involved, their neighbors, representatives of the association IEHS (Inter electrohypersensitive), and the mayor of the commune.
"The cave is located in the municipality. The message of the mayor, Jean-Claude Gast, is clear: "My position is that of an elected aware of suffering in boundary conditions. The problem is beyond my expertise, but I kept all the administrations concerned. I wish now that the state recognizes these symptoms."
