EHS: Symptoms and Support
Electrohypersensivity (EHS), originally known as microwave sickness, is receiving international recognition as an emerging public health problem. The Canadian Human Rights Commission, the Americans with Disabilities Act and our Canadian Government now recognize EHS as an Environmental Sensitivity, and it is now recognized in Sweden and Norway as a Functional Impairment.
Over 3,000 doctors agree, " . . . One can no longer evade these pulsed microwaves. They heighten the risk of already present chemical/physical influences, stress the body's immune system, and can bring the body's still-functioning regulatory mechanisms to a halt. Pregnant women, children, adolescents, elderly and sick people are especially at risk." Freiburger Appeal, signed by over 3,000 German Medical Doctors
The damaging health effects of electromagnetic frequency (EMF) and radio frequency (RF) fields - neurological, respiratory and cardiac, as well as others of a more general nature - have been known for decades, but with the explosion of modern wireless devices and infrastructure, ill health effects are being felt by more people every day.
Those for whom symptoms are more subtle do not usually, in the early stages of reactivity, make the RF connection. For those who already know they are electrohypersensitive, this is a life-affecting reality.
The Power Watch Handbook states that between 3% and 35% of our population are sensitive in some way to electormagnetic frequencies. The likelihood will only grow with continued exposure and time.

Interview with Dr. Roy Fox (based in Halifax, Nova Scotia)
An in-depth interview with Dr Roy Fox, Medical Director of the Capital Health Integrative Chronic Care Service, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
"Contrary to a common medical practice worldwide, one of Canada's few experts in environmental medicine says avoiding pollutants and detoxifying the body are the best ways of reducing symptoms of environmental sensitivities and that use of neuroactive drugs is a risky last resort."
"Dr Fox's team treats its patients holistically: "We treat the whole person, ensuring they have a good balanced diet that does not contain what their body can't adapt to. Our approach is to get people in a state of optimal health so they can tap into their own ability to restore balance. And it works: while it does not eliminate sensitivities, patients generally react less and manage their symptoms, which lessen, more effectively.''

Second Tuesday of every month at Food for Thought, 577 Kingstown Rd., Wakefield, RI
Tuesday, June 11
Are you or your children experiencing headaches, migraines, ADHD, heart palpitations, anxiety, depression, behaviour changes, irritability, weakness, fatigue, body aches, muscle spasms, dizziness, respiratory problems, or other unexplained symptoms?
Did you know that these and many other health problems have been linked to the type of radiation emitted by cell phones, cordless phones, Wi-Fi, laptops, handheld personal wireless devices and wireless utility meters?
This is an informational meeting for RI residents who are concerned about the unregulated proliferation of wireless technology, specifically the use of Wi-Fi in schools, the roll out of "smart" wireless utility meters in Rhode Island, and cell towers in residential neighborhoods.
There will be a discussion about wireless radiation and health effects, how to protect your family, current legislation, and what's happening in other states.
Beginning June 11, we will meet the second Tuesday of every month. The public is invited.
We will meet at Food for Thought,
577 Kingstown Road,
Wakefield, Rhode Island
For more information please call (401) 284-4530.
Sooke School District - severe headaches triggered by Wi-Fi installed in the annex where Tyler attended school
" . . . The School Board denied Tyler's pediatrician a simple request to turn off the Wi-Fi router closest to Tyler's classrooms so he could complete Grade 2 with his friends. This despite the fact the router was not being used but was installed in HOPES of receiving computers next year. The Assistant Superintendent told us preceding our appeal in a private meeting that the router would not be turned off but would stay on 24/7 because they did not want to set a precedent. They wanted to continue with their 'multi-million dollar Technology Plan for the BC Education Plan that was moving into the 21st Century.'
"The principal of Tyler's Elementary School stated that the decision to install Wi-Fi in the school was out of her control and it was the only viable way to have Internet service in the annex. It was now a fact of life. The principal wanted nothing more to do with the request to turn off the Wi-Fi so Tyler could go back to school.
"The principal made it very clear that the teacher was not obligated to provide Tyler with homework for marking, assessment, or evaluation for him to complete Grade 2 if he was not attending school. The teacher would resume regular teaching duties when Tyler returned to school. We were dismissed.
Tyler was unable to complete Grade 2 with his friends. . . .
to discuss issues, schooling choices, white zones and safe places
Victor (based in British Columbia, Canada) has set up a new discussion board on the internet. Victor recently shared the following announcement:
The EHS community has been lacking a web forum to discuss issues, schooling choices, white zones and safe places. RF levels in the cities have gradually been increasing while safety standards have been slow to change although recognition of the concerns have become more widely known.
Most of our discussions occur through email. Responding to a request, I have setup an internet discussion board called EHS CONNECT for our community to discuss our particular issues and concerns. You may visit the forum by clicking on this link: EHSconnect.boardhost.com
The forum is searchable and provides a consistent location for information to be archived and forwarded to others for easy reference. This removes some risk in forwarding emails and addresses some privacy concerns during email discussions.
If you think of new forum categories that should be included in the forum, do let me know and I will consider it. It is a meeting place for like minded individuals to support each other. As with anything else, the forum will only be as good as the people who make up the forum.
Please drop in for a visit and if you recognize the value in such a forum, kindly forward its link to others who may benefit from it.

You could print each page separately or double-sided on one sheet of paper. There is a separate posting for the same thing as a postcard size (4 per sheet of paper).
If you must print in black (no colours), please do one test print and if the result isn't great, please ask EnergyCanaries@bell.net for the files suitable for black-only printing.
Print double-sided on one sheet of paper then cut the sheet in quarters. The size will probably be best if you do not use fit-to-page in your pdf print options.
There is a separate posting for the same thing as a full-size page. If you must print in black (no colours), please do one test print and if the result isn't great, please ask EnergyCanaries@bell.net for the files suitable for black-only printing.
aired on Inside Out (South) Feb 25, 2013
The BBC covered the impact of electromagnetic radiation, wi-fi, and mobile phones on health and the prevalence of electrosensitivity (ES) or electrohypersensitivity (EHS). The program features former electronics expert and now EMF Refugee, Phil Inkley. ES-UK Trustees, Professor Denis Henshaw, and medical doctor Andrew Tresidder help viewers understand aspects of EHS--the possible source of problems including headaches, tinnitus, sleeplessness, and heart rhythm variability.
Refugium Wi-Fi Exiles & The Coming Electroplague
"Nanaimo author Kim Goldberg has been awarded a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to write a book about people who are physically sickened by their exposure to wireless technology.
"I was thrilled to learn that this project will be supported," says Goldberg, who holds a degree in biology and has no wireless devices in her own home. "It will require a huge amount of time and work because the problem is literally global in scope." . . .
