Girish Kumar is Professor of Electrical Engineering working in the Telecommunications Industry, IIT Bombay, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Professor Kumar received his Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1983. From 1983 he was a Research Associate in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. From 1985 to 1991 he was an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, USA. Since 1991 he lives and works at IIT Bombay, where he is currently a Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department.

Prof. Kumar's research interests are: Cell tower radiation hazards and solutions, Microstrip Antennas and Arrays, Broadband Antennas, and Microwave Integrated Circuits and systems.

He has written more than 200 papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings and has written a book entitled "Broadband Microstrip Antennas" published by Artech House, USA.

Dr. Carpenter's presentation in Montreal went well. The energy board may recommend some measures to reduce public exposure, but they are much too favourable to Hydro.
