"This is an announcement of legal actions against harm from wireless radiation from household and commercial digital electric meters.

"More and more people are discovering that otherwise unexplained health problems can be correlated and attributed to electromagnetic exposures from wireless devices, especially the new generation of "Smart Grid" digital electric meters.

"The recent and ongoing worldwide deployment of digital electric meters on homes has caused a major increase in symptoms, illnesses and injuries to health. The massive scale of these problems is just starting to be recognized.

"Those industries, businesses and individuals who profit from wireless technologies, such as your power company, are suppressing information about the hazards of wireless technologies. They are attacking proponents of responsible wireless management and they are knowingly exposing the public to harm and damage hoping that the general public and the media will refuse to believe the obvious and proven connection between electromagnetic radiation and biological damage.

"Because of the wireless industry's irresponsibility and wrongdoing, unfortunately, legal actions have become necessary. There are many illnesses and injuries caused by digital electric metering. Liz Barris, a lawsuit organizer, announces in this video how to recognize the symptoms of EMR exposure and how to contact competent legal assistance to join existing and upcoming legal actions to protect you and your family's health, safety, privacy, rights and property. . . .

Trying to change minds in smart-meter debate

Retired EPA attorney leads the opposition in Maryland

"Concerns about utility smart meters are frequently dismissed as tinfoil-hat paranoia. But it's not so easy to dismiss Jonathan Libber.

"The Baltimore man delivers his arguments against the wireless devices in the calm manner of an attorney. He is, in fact, an attorney -- retired from the Environmental Protection Agency, a point he notes when he reminds people of the country's spotty record of figuring out environmental hazards before they're widespread.

"As the force behind Maryland's smart-meter opposition, Libber is spending the early part of retirement in a way he'd never envisioned. He hadn't even heard of the devices until 2011. Now, as president of Maryland Smart Meter Awareness, he's burning 30 to 40 hours a week answering anxious questions, writing testimony and speaking to community groups -- pro bono.

"It's had some effect. Maryland's Public Service Commission, which said it hadn't found convincing evidence of risks to customers regarding health and other issues, nevertheless decided in January that "the public interest requires" an alternative to standard smart meters if a customer requests it. . . .

DoT awakens to cancer-causing cellphone towers (India)

Department of Telecommunication (DoT) in India - dna exclusive

"The department of telecommunication or DoT has finally woken up to the fact that there may be a correlation between cancer and exposure to radiation from cell phone towers.

". . . Chetan Shah says his family lives in fear after having seen so many neighbours succumb to cancer. "We are not going to wait for one of us to get cancer and have decided to take legal action," he said.

"In September 2012, the government lowered radiation emission limits for mobile phone towers to 450 milliwatts/sq m from 4,500. But even this is way above international norms."

President's Cancer Panel: Environmentally caused cancers are 'grossly underestimated'

President's Cancer Panel: Environmentally caused cancers are 'grossly underestimated' and 'needlessly devastate American lives.'

"The President's Cancer Panel on Thursday reported that "the true burden of environmentally induced cancers has been grossly underestimated" and strongly urged action to reduce people's widespread exposure to carcinogens.

"The panel advised President Obama "to use the power of your office to remove the carcinogens and other toxins from our food, water, and air that needlessly increase health care costs, cripple our nation's productivity, and devastate American lives."

"The 240-page report by the President's Cancer Panel is the first to focus on environmental causes of cancer. The panel, created by an act of Congress in 1971, is charged with monitoring the multi-billion-dollar National Cancer Program and reports directly to the President every year.

"Environmental exposures "do not represent a new front in the ongoing war on cancer. However, the grievous harm from this group of carcinogens has not been addressed adequately by the National Cancer Program," the panel said in its letter to Obama that precedes the report. "The American people - even before they are born - are bombarded continually with myriad combinations of these dangerous exposures." . . .

"They also urged doctors to use caution in prescribing CT scans and other medical imaging tests that expose patients to large amounts of radiation. In 2007, 69 million CT scans were performed, compared with 18 million in 1993. Patients who have a chest CT scan receive a dose of radiation in the same range as survivors of the Hiroshima atomic bomb attacks who were less than half a mile from ground zero, the report says.

"The panel also criticized the U.S. military, saying that "it is a major source of toxic occupational and environmental exposures that can increase cancer risk." Examples cited include Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, where carcinogenic solvents contaminate drinking water, and Vietnam veterans with increased lymphomas, prostate cancer and other cancers from their exposure to the herbicide Agent Orange. . . .

No-Fee Opt Out for smart meter in California (LADWP)

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power: Video shows removal of smart meter, and installation of a brand new no-fee analogue meter.

LADWP gives us a FREE OPT OUT from a harmful, spying, digital meter to a SAFE analog meter!! This is the first free analog opt out in LADWP territory to my knowledge. It happened in March of 2013, when I am told others are actually being CHARGED to opt out.

Meanwhile, in a house across town . . .
LADWP cuts power to family of eight.

"MARSHFIELD, VT-- (Marketwire - Mar 20, 2013) - The EMRadiation Policy Institute (EMRPI) releases Videos revealing the FCC's failure to protect Americans from wireless radiofrequency (RF) radiation.

"US workers and families are at risk of overexposure to RF at hazardous levels. Hundreds of wireless industry-operated antenna sites from Maine to California have been tested by EMRPI and found to be in gross violation -- up to and in excess of 600% -- of the FCC's public exposure limits. These sites include rooftops as well as locations where the general public, including children, can gain access, and where workers are on the job. . . .

  • Wireless Radiation Can Harm Health. . . .
  • FCC Fails to Enforce Its Own Wireless Radiation Limits. . . .
  • Are the FCC and the Wireless Industry Turning a Blind Eye to RF Violations? . . .
  • The American Public Is Not Protected. . . .
"Congress must act to hold the FCC accountable. If not, Americans will remain at risk from unlawful RF radiation exposures at antenna sites across the country. The American people have a right to know and a right to be protected. EMRPI urges the American people to demand that the FCC enforce its own RF safety limits to protect all Americans.

Smart Meters - Engineering a Virtual Panopticon (UK)

Panopticon - an institutional building designed by English philosopher/social theorist Jeremy Bentham in the late 18th century. The concept allows a watchman to observe all inmates of an institution without them being able to tell whether or not they are being watched.

"If you are the average Internet and telephone user, 736 pieces of personal information are collected about you every single day. During the last four years, more than a million pieces of your personal information have been logged in computers in data-center locations that are unknown to you.

"Without applying, you are now a participant in a vast study group.

"Your information is collected, collated, analysed, profiled and sold without your consent, providing the fuel for an Information sector that accumulates nearly $34,000 per second.

"That might sound like a lot - until you hear about 'Smart' Meters.

"If you are in the tiny minority of people who have even heard of these Orwellian sentinels, you may already know that their proponents speak of an end to estimated bills, the elimination of meter reading jobs and 24/7 connectivity to your home's thermostat. What these sophists fail to say is that they will give "Big Energy" real-time recording and transmission of not only your electricity, gas and water usage, but a lot more besides - much of which you would be forgiven for thinking is none of their business.

"For example, 'Smart' Meters will provide your utility providers (and any eavesdroppers) with a running commentary on whether you are home, what appliances you are using, what film you are watching, what temperature your home is running at and whether you have any windows open. And that's before the behavioural-modeling software kicks in. . . .
