Wildlife and Environment
Wireless devices and technologies, and the infrastructure required to support them, are endangering not only human biology, but all natural processes in our environment as well. Wildlife, and the environmental systems they depend on to survive. We can all take immediate steps to lessen the damage we are causing from using wireless technologies.

Danish Students' Cress and Wi-Fi Experiment
Students Attract International Attention
"Foreign researchers are extremely excited for a biology project from five 9th grade girls.
Researchers from England, Holland and Sweden have shown great interest in the five girls' biology experiments.
"Take 400 Cress seeds and place them into 12 trays. Then place six trays in two rooms at the same temperature. Give them the same amount of water and sun over 12 days, and remember to expose half of them to mobile [Wi-Fi] radiation.
"It is a recipe for a biology test so brilliant that it has attracted international attention among acknowledged biologists and radiation experts. Behind the experiment are five girls from 9b in Hjallerup School in North Jutland, and it all started because they found it difficult to concentrate during the school day: . . .

Resonance - Beings of Frequency
(documentary film) by James Russell
RESONANCE is an eye opening documentary which reveals the harm we are doing by existing in an ocean of man made wireless frequencies.
Two billion years ago life first arrived on this planet; a planet, which was filled with a natural frequency. As life slowly evolved, it did so surrounded by this frequency. and Inevitably, it began tuning in.
By the time mankind arrived on earth an incredible relationship had been struck; a relationship that science is just beginning to comprehend.
Research is showing that being exposed to this frequency is absolutely integral to us. It controls our mental and physical health, it synchronizes our circadian rhythms, and it aids our immune system and improves our sense of wellbeing.
Not only are we surrounded by natural frequencies, our bodies are filled with them too. Our cells communicate using electro magnetic frequencies. Our brain emits a constant stream of frequencies and our DNA delivers instructions, using frequency waves. Without them we couldn't exist for more than a second.
This delicate balance has taken billions of years to perfect. But over the last 25 years the harmony has been disturbed. and disturbed dramatically.
Mankind has submerged itself in an ocean of artificial frequencies. They are all around us, filling the air and drowning out the earth's natural resonance.
To the naked eye the planet appears to be the same. But at a cellular level it is the biggest change that life on earth has endured; the affects of which we are just starting to see and feel.

Comment: This may be one of the most important documentaries ever made. You will need nearly two hours to watch the entire film, but it is time well spent. Anyone using wireless devices should watch the documentary.
In-utero Exposure to Magnetic Fields and the Risk of Childhood Obesity
A Prospective Study - De-kun Li: Department of Health Research and Policy, School of Medicine, Stanford University
"We conducted a prospective study to examine whether in-utero exposure to magnetic fields (MFs) increases the risk of childhood obesity. Participating women carried a meter measuring MF levels during pregnancy and 733 of their children were followed up to 13 years to collect clinically recorded information on growth patterns with 33 weight measurements per child on average. Prenatal exposure to high MF level was associated with increased risk of being obese in offspring than those with lower MF level (odds ratio51.69, 95% confidence interval: 1.01-2.84).
The association demonstrated a dose-response relationship and was stronger (more than 2.3 fold increased risk) among children who were followed up to the end of the study. The association existed only for persistent obesity, but not for transitory (unlikely) obesity. Maternal exposure to high MF during pregnancy may be a new and previously unknown factor contributing to the world-wide epidemic of childhood obesity/overweight. . . .
Robobees to Pollinate Flowers as Bee Populations Decline
Scientists Develop Flying Robobees to Pollinate Flowers as Bee Populations Decline
"Honey bee populations around the world are in decline due to causes ranging from 'super mites' to Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and even cell phones - and if the insects disappear completely the planet's ecosystems would be in peril. The issue has become so dire that now a team of Harvard and Northeastern University scientists are working on a swarm of miniature Robobee robots that could pollinate flowers and do the job of real bees if required. . . .
Posted comment for this article: "This is so illogical, impractical, immoral... so the bees go missing because of the phones and spraying, then the humans go missing, will a robohuman be the scientific report?"
Story at-a-glance
Are smart meters chasing away birds from Rolling Hills?
Paul Ouellette has been feeding birds in the Rolling Hills neighborhood for several years and said since the city installed smart water meters he has not had to buy bird feed for the multiple feeders in his yard.
" . . . While there is much information and misinformation on the effects of the high-frequency pulse on the health of humans, there is little research into the effect on small wildlife such as birds. The meters operate at a frequency similar to cell phones and other portable communications devices and while some minor health effects have been reported, such as problems sleeping or dizziness or nausea, the meters are generally considered safe for humans.
"Ouellette said he thinks the city's meters may be different somehow, as the power and gas meters in the neighborhood were also fitted with smart meters last year and they did not seem to have an effect on the neighborhood's wildlife.
"But since the city's have gone on, he and Chase both said the change was obvious and immediate. . . .
Late Lessons from Early Warnings 2013
Major Report from European Environment Agency
Part A Lessons from health hazards
Part B Emerging lessons from ecosystems
Part C Emerging issues
Part D Costs, justice and innovation
Part E Implications for science and governance
The European Environment Agency published a major report today to alert governments about the need to attend to early warning signs about technology health risks, including mobile phones.
Jan. 24, 2013 - The 750-page volume, "Late Lessons from Early Warnings," includes twenty new case studies and has major implications for policy, science and society. Although the report was prepared by the European Environment Agency to provide guidance to the EU nations, its implications are global. (1)
Brain tumor risk associated with cell phone use is addressed in one of the report's chapters. (2) The report highlights the classification of this form of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) as "possibly carcinogenic", or cancer causing, by the World Health Organization's (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in 2011.
The research that has found increased brain tumor risk associated with long term mobile phone use is reviewed. The authors note that governments and industry have been slow to respond to the WHO's precautionary warnings and urges policy makers to respond to early warnings more quickly. It argues that industries that cause future harm must pay for the damage and suggests that taking early precautions can stimulate rather than stifle innovation.
The report accuses the mobile phone industry of "inertia in considering the various studies and taking the IARC carcinogenic classification into account," criticizes the media for not "providing the public with robust and consistent information on potential health risks," and attacks governments for shirking "their responsibilities to protect public health from this widespread source of radiation."
Although the report acknowledges the many benefits of mobile phones to society, it recommends the need for precautionary actions to reduce cell phone radiation exposures to minimize the extent and seriousness of the risks to the brain and other organs.
The report makes four specific recommendations about cell phones:
a. Governments, the mobile phone industry, and the public should take all reasonable measures to reduce EMR exposure, especially from mobile phones, particularly exposure to children and young adults who are likely most at risk for brain and salivary gland tumors. The report recommends texting, use of hands-free sets, and improved design of phones which generate less radiation and make hands-free use more convenient.
b. Governments should reconsider the scientific basis for the present exposure standards "which have serious limitations such as reliance on the contested thermal effects paradigm; and simplistic assumptions about the complexities of radio frequency exposures."
c. Mobile phones should be required to have effective labeling and warnings about potential risks for users.
d. Adequate funding should be provided for the "urgently needed research into the health effects of phones" and base stations. Funding could include industry grants and a small fee on the purchase and/or use of mobile phones.
It is time for the U.S. to end its two decades of denial and assume a leadership role in adopting precautionary measures to reduce the potential harms associated with exposure to mobile phone radiation. Otherwise we may a steep price in terms of preventable health care costs, lost productivity, and reduced quality of life. A nickel a month collected on each cell phone subscription would generate sufficient funds for the U.S. to undertake the needed training and research to head off this potential epidemic. (3)

New technologies have sometimes had very harmful effects, but in many cases the early warning signs have been suppressed or ignored. The second volume of Late Lessons from Early Warnings investigates specific cases where danger signals have gone unheeded, in some cases leading to deaths, illness and environmental destruction.

Unknown tree damage by electromagnetic radiation
Netherlands: "About 35% of all broadleaf trees is affected."
"Currently, trees growing in urban environments in many different countries are suffering from malformations of unknown origin. About 35% of all broadleaf trees is affected. Research has shown that dead cells occur at the outer layers of the tree trunk.
"Many believe that the ever increasing electromagnetic fields are the cause of these new tree deseases. There are different studies that prove that this field has negative influence on trees . . .

Scientific and Technological Options Assessment
This study focuses upon an aspect of how living organisms and humans in particular can be
adversely affected by highly coherent electromagnetic fields of technological origin, in a way that is
not entertained or addressed by existing Safety Guidelines - namely, through the possibility of non-
thermal, frequency-specific influences of an informational nature. Supporting evidence is presented,
and attention drawn to a disturbing consistency between some of these influences and the nature of
certain adverse health effects found amongst some exposed people. On the basis of a detailed
analysis of the present situation, a number of recommendations are made to promote a higher degree
of electromagnetic biocompatibility between these fields and the living human organism than
currently obtains.
